Using insurance for therapy and paying privately each have advantages. Which is better depends on your priorities, budget, and privacy concerns.
Benefits of Insurance.
Cost Savings. Many clients find that using their insurance makes counseling more affordable. Your actual cost will depend on your plan and may be subject to deductibles and copays.
Long-Term Counseling. For individuals managing significant mental health challenges or those seeking long-term support, insurance benefits can help make consistent counseling more accessible and affordable over time.
Benefits of Private Pay
Diagnosis. You do not need a diagnosis to receive counseling. Insurance providers require a documented diagnosis before they will consider covering counseling services.
Privacy. When you use health insurance to pay for counseling services, your insurance company typically requires information to process and pay claims. This includes a documented and supported mental health diagnosis, dates of service, treatment codes, session notes, and other personal information deemed necessary by your insurance plan.
Next Steps
Schedule a consultation.
The best way to get started is to schedule a free, no-obligation, 15-minute consultation. This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and decide if I am the right fit for your needs.
Complete paperwork.
If we decide to move forward with therapy, you will be asked to complete a few intake forms prior to your first session. They can be completed online with a phone, tablet, etc.
Your First Session
Your first session will look and feel different than other sessions. Some time will be dedicated to learning your history and clarifying your goals for therapy.
Going Forward
You and I will choose a day and time for weekly or biweekly sessions. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes in length.

The best way to reach me is by text or email. With the exception of current clients, I have temporarily stopped answering phone calls. Unfortunately, my phone number is being spoofed by scammers and I am receiving calls from people stating that I called them. Note: I filed a complaint with the FCC and am working to correct this issue.
Office Hours
Friday - Saturday (By appointment Only)
Communication is not monitored outside of office hours. If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact emergency response services for immediate care.
